Shibori workshop
Shibori is an old Japanese technique of dyeing and decoration of fabrics that, using the pressure, gets stamped between the parts under pressure and those that do not.
This pressure can be realized in different ways: making knots, tying, pleating, folding, rolling, sewing … each one receives a specific name.
In this workshop we will:
Itajame. Using different templates
Kanoko i kumo – knotted, pleated and pressed
Bomaki i Arashi – pleats
Maki-age, ori-nui, i mokume – sewn
It is a technique where the results are always surprising and spectacular. Fabrics stamped with these methods can be used to decorate foulards, make household clothes and for our patchworks or textile works.
